Digo Bikash Samaj

Women, particularly from discriminated castes in Nepal, are excluded from decision-making processes. They struggle to bring their issues to community-level mediation groups and decision-making mechanisms as these tend to be male dominated fields.

Digo Bikash Samaj is a civil society organization registered in Kailali , Nepal to empower disadvantaged members from the Dalit and Janajati communities, members with disabilities, single women, and landless members from low socio-economic backgrounds in Nepal.

The organization seeks N-Peace’s support to implement a training workshop, form community action groups, and launch a communications campaign that includes documentaries, radio broadcasts, and written articles to help empower these communities and educate the public. The community action groups will initiate dialogues with local leaders on issues and challenges faced by women, and identify 25 women from diverse communities to be trained as peace accelerators to lead the initiative.
