Aung Myo Min
Socially marginalized communities such as the LGBTI community, often face even more discrimination in conflict setting.
Aung Myo Min is the founder of the Colour Rainbow the first LGBTI imitative in Myanmar and actively advocates against the treatment of the LGBTI community in Myanmar. He started his activism when his then partner was killed by fighters because of his sexual orientation.
Myo also works with women’s groups, and supports and coaches women to participate in regional and international human rights mechanisms and processes so as to end all forms of violence against women. He has held numerous workshops and trainings with women’s groups leaders to better understand the Convention to End all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
