Fatima Lodhi

Known as the ‘Champion of Diversity’, Fatima Lodhi has dedicated almost 10 years advocating for anti-colourism and the realization of gender equality within Pakistan, regionally and globally. As the Founder of Dark is Divine, an organization working to counter stigma based on skin colour, her campaigns are rooted in deconstructing cultural and gender norms, and their disproportionate impact on women.

Fatima is the recipient of many awards recognizing these efforts; including the Mehek Woman of Excellence (2014), and Young Rising Woman Leadership Awards (2015). Her anti-colourism work has had international acclaim, and continues to serve as a reference point to illustrate how stifling gender normativity contributes to discriminatory norms and the disenfranchisement of women and girls. Her online platforms provide spaces for women and girls to advocate for their rights without societal pressures or imposition of beauty standards.
